Aloha Aina, a Hawaiian Environmental Science Curriculum Pilot Project
Phase I Sample Test Results - as of 5/01/07

The Aloha Aina project of the Pacific American Foundation and Hawaii Dept. of Education seeks to develop a new, hands-on, environmental science curriculum across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. Using MetaCat Assessment software from MetaLogic, Inc. (http://www.metalogic1.com) participating teachers implemented online pre- and post-assessments around this new curriculum. Data was used informally to evaluate current student knowledge and provide instructional information. Pre- and Post-test data are being used to evaluate the effects of curriculum and instruction. Both curriculum and tests are being revised based on feedback and an expanded pilot is planned in Phase II.

The following links showcase sample reports. The comparison reports include only students who took both the pre- and post-tests.
